While both readers have an e-ink screen with the same diagonal size (6 inches), the Pocketbook Verse Pro has a higher resolution of 1072 x 1448 pixels.
This resolution enables finer characters to be displayed, and the screen technology used gives this model a faster refresh rate and better contrast.
However, the Pocketbook Verse is perfectly suited to displaying text. If you're planning to read manga on one of these readers, you'll be better off with the Pocketbook Verse Pro.
The Pocketbook Verse Pro is waterproof, with IPX8 certification.
If you can't go scuba diving with this model, it can withstand a short immersion in water (if you use it in the bath, for example) and is easy to clean.
If you're reading on the beach, the Pocketbook Verse Pro is also a good choice, as grains of sand are less likely to damage your e-reader.
The Pro version of the Pocketbook ereader, which is the most expensive, has a text-to-speech function that lets you read a classic ebook in a synthetic voice.
It is also compatible with various audio file formats: MP3, MP3.zip, OGG, OGG.zip, M4A, M4B.
You'll need a Bluetooth speaker or headset to take advantage of these features.
Apart from these differences, both Pocketbook Verse and Pocketbook Verse Pro support a wide range of ebook formats: EPUB, PDF, FB2, FB2.ZIP, TXT, DJVU, HTM, HTML, DOC, DOCX, RTF, CHM, TCR, PRC (MOBI), JPEG, BMP, PNG, TIFF.
If you already have a large collection of ebooks, both readers will be able to read your digital books with ease.
Both models are also compatible with the Calibre ebook management software.
Another major difference is the price: the Pocketbook Verse is the cheapest. It's also a full-featured e-reader with a touch screen and blue-light filtering.
So it's ideal for people who want to read novels or any other type of book at home without illustrations.
But if you're looking for a more robust model (for travelling with) that's also capable of delivering audio books, you'll be better off with the Pocketbook Verse Pro.
